English 10: We will review the assignments that have been submitted on the short stories and the novel. The students will also receive the definitions of the literary terms. We will discuss the importance of flashback and allusion in the novel. Read to page 119 by November 18. Please use sticky notes and cue cards to pick evidence from the text for the letter assignment.
English 9 Honors: Read to Chapter 38 by November 13. The students will also receive the definitions of the literary terms. We will discuss the importance of flashback and allusion in the novel. If a student has finished their novel, he or she (if possible) should bring their laptop into class to work on their letter. The letter assignment is due on November 28.
English 9: On November 12, Period 4 will work on correcting sentence errors. They will also work on finishing their Venn Diagram for How to Tell Renata. Period 8 will complete this on November 13. Students must remember their silent reading books every day.
English 8: On November 12, Period 1 will complete the Venn Diagram for Thank-You Ma'am. Period 1 will work on identifying and correcting run-on sentences. Period 2 will read the story Thank-You Ma'am and begin the Venn Diagram. On November 13, Period 6 will complete the Venn Diagram for Thank-You Ma'am. They will also work on identifying and correcting run-on sentences. Students must remember their silent reading books as their projects are due on November 26.
